Our Story
It all began in 2012 when two cousins, Josh and Patrick Johnson, designed and printed business cards on their home computer and started knocking on doors around their Boston neighborhood. Armed with the family lawn mower and yard equipment, they launched J n J Yard Work to help neighbors with their yard care needs.
A few years later, Josh (pictured) pursued his passion for entrepreneurship at Babson College, where he continued to grow the business while studying. As J n J Yard Work evolved, expanding its services into a full-fledged landscape management company, it became clear the name no longer reflected the scope of what we had become. Enter GreenOp—a name that embodies the innovation and professionalism we bring to landscape design, development, maintenance, and management.
Today, GreenOp proudly serves commercial and residential clients throughout the Greater Boston area. With over eight years of experience, we’ve built the expertise and assembled a skilled team to transform and maintain properties, unlocking their full potential.

Kristin Macchi
Maintenance and Design
Kristin is a Certified Landscape Designer with over 20 years of experience helping clients in the Greater Boston area turn their visions into stunning realities. She is passionate about planning, designing, and installing unique, sustainable spaces that blend beauty and functionality. Kristin specializes in incorporating native plants and pollinators to create low-maintenance gardens that offer year-round appeal.
A proud resident of Jamaica Plain, Kristin spends her free time with her two sons and her loyal Border Collie, Cinder.
Chris Degregorio
Construction and Tree Care
Chris brings 25 years of experience in the landscape industry as an I.S.A. Certified Arborist with a strong background in horticulture. Known for his dedication to building lasting customer relationships, Chris takes pride in delivering high-quality results on every project.
When he’s not working, Chris enjoys tending to his gardens, playing golf, and relaxing on Martha’s Vineyard. A resident of Milton, he cherishes time with his family, including his two dogs, and is a proud father of a McGill University freshman.
Chris will be focusing on our landscape construction projects and will also oversee lawn care and tree management to ensure every property thrives.
